Job Title: Vice President of Quality – Cosmetics and Personal Care

Position Overview
The Vice President of Quality will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for leading and overseeing all quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance functions within our cosmetics and personal care division. This role will ensure the highest standards of product safety, efficacy, and consistency while aligning with industry regulations and company goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in quality management within the cosmetics or personal care industries and demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Leadership: Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive quality strategy across the company’s cosmetic and personal care products, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local, national, and international regulations (e.g., FDA, EU regulations, ISO standards) related to cosmetics and personal care products, including formulation, packaging, labeling, and marketing claims.
- Quality Assurance & Control: Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring all products meet or exceed internal and external quality standards from development through manufacturing to the marketplace.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and marketing teams to integrate quality into all phases of product development and commercialization.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices to drive operational efficiency.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Establish and maintain quality standards for suppliers and contract manufacturers. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Product Safety & Risk Management: Develop and manage comprehensive risk assessment and management processes, including product testing, stability studies, and post-market surveillance to ensure ongoing product safety and effectiveness.
- Leadership & Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing quality organization. Provide guidance, training, and leadership to quality teams, fostering a culture of quality, compliance, and accountability.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Drive initiatives to incorporate sustainability and innovation into product development and quality systems, aligning with market trends and consumer expectations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of quality management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the cosmetics or personal care industry.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, product formulation, testing methods, and compliance issues related to cosmetics, skincare, haircare, or personal care products.
- Certifications: Quality-related certifications (e.g., ASQ, ISO Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading and scaling quality functions across multiple locations, including domestic and international operations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and resolve complex quality issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and with external partners and regulatory bodies.
