Position: Validation Process Engineer
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Duration: 1 year contract with potential extensions/possible conversion
Compensation: $40-$55/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Bachelor’s degree in software or electrical engineering, or related field or related experience
- Minimum of five years of experience working with industrial robots and/or computer-controlled automation preferred
- Software programming experience (Teach Pendant / TP programs and Basic)
- Robot programming experience
Validation/Process Engineer Description
Insight Global is looking for talented people who value integrity, informed decision-making and collaboration. As a Senior Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing directly with General Motors (GM) to support their requests using the GM Global Standard for robots; and setting up applications on robots that will test KAREL programs, Teach Pendant (TP) programs and robot parameters that provide a robust solution for GM Global Specifications across the world. You will also validate FANUC robot software (working onsite in a FANUC lab) that will be used at GM production facilities. These applications include, but are not limited to, Spot, Dispense, Stud, MH, SPR, Flowdrill, Tool Changers, Project Welding, Arc Welding, Vision, Collaborative Robots.
The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a “service first” (customer-focused) mindset who has experience with FANUC technology and has worked with GM Global Specifications or has the desire and willingness to learn the GM Global Standard for robots.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Support, design, and develop teach pendant programs and KAREL programs based on customer requests
- Develop robot programs written in KAREL, TTP+ and PMC
- Develop, integrate, and validate custom application solutions to meet specific customer requirements (Customer Software Interfaces - Spot, Dispense, Stud, MH, Flowdrill, etc.)
- Operate FANUC robots and software
- Interact and work closely together with Customers and Integrators from project start to finish
- Work collaboratively with GM Global Group Engineers to gather customer requests and requirements needed for current and future projects; clarify requests by creating a functional specification approved by GM
- Write detailed robot software specifications and programming guides based on customer specific process requirements
- Create internal functional specifications for the development on approval
- Create a testing plan for self-validation of the software to verify functionality on robot application during internal buyoff
