Test Technician - Defense - California, US (On-Site)
As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the successful execution of various tests, including static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing. This role involves working on a range of test items, from small integrated electronics systems to full aircraft fuselages and other large structures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems, and other structural testing equipment to achieve test objectives.
- Fabricate test equipment and execute test procedures that support and validate design decisions.
- Assist with critical hardware demonstrations for customers when needed.
- Travel to test sites as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience in an engineering technician role or similar capacity.
- Knowledge of environmental chamber equipment, vibration qualification testing, and/or battery discharge testing.
- Experience with wire harnessing, electrical layouts, and enclosure assembly.
- Familiarity with basic AC/DC power systems (single-phase, three-phase).
- Proven ability to prepare and execute detailed test procedures with high attention to accuracy.
- Strong hands-on fabrication and assembly skills.
- Experience with instrumentation setup, including strain gauge applications, sensor calibration, thermocouple installation, and cable harness assembly.
