A leading Digital Gaming and Entertainment organization has an immediate need for an Operations Specialist to proactively monitor and respond to incidents across our global operations, ensuring users can enjoy a seamless experience. This role focuses on the rapid detection, triage, and resolution of player-impacting issues, as well as the continuous enhancement of our service processes by refining monitoring tools, improving signal-to-noise ratios, and keeping documentation up-to-date.
Pay: $33.65 - $40.86
Type: long-term temporary-to-hire
Location: Remote (PST hours required)
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 11pm - 8am PST
In this role, you’ll:
- Monitor incoming communications to quickly identify and track incidents
- Use your systems, network, and cloud expertise to triage and address issues as a first responder
- Resolve player and user-impacting issues efficiently
- Conduct routine follow-ups on active incidents to ensure progress toward resolution
- Manage requests for access, network maintenance, and systems adjustments
- Refine alert triggers to reduce false positives
- Oversee documentation, engagement, and communications during critical service outages
- Update and improve documentation, such as runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures
Preferred Areas of Expertise: Proficiency in a range of technologies, including:
- Operating Systems: Linux (bash, debugging)
- Networking: Packet loss, routing, ACLs
- Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Datadog
- Alert Correlation: BigPanda, ScienceLogic, Netcool
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP, OpenStack
- Service Operations: ITIL, Incident/Change Management
- Logging Systems: Splunk, SysLog, ELK Stack
- Source Control & CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Argo
- Configuration Management: Puppet, Terraform, Ansible
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
- Load Balancing: Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy
