Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, etc. or related field
- 5+ years of experience with the following: Remediation, Site investigation, Risk analysis, Risk assessment, Brownfields, Environmental contamination (spills, industrial operations, chemical releases)
- 5+ years of experience with technical report writing in the environmental space
- Strong experience with remediation and investigation
Qualification Plusses:
- Professional Engineering license
- Any kind of professional registration
- GIS experience
Day-To-Day:
An engineering client in the Salt Lake City, Utah area is seeking to add an Environmental Scientist to their growing team. This Environmental Scientist position will be both a technical specialist in environmental science deliverables and a project management professional. The Environmental Scientist will work with a variety of clients for both commercial and industrial projects.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
- Support the Department/Office manager in performing business and client development activities
- With support from the Department/Office Manager develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection and onboarding.
- Prepare and execute annual business plan for the specialty service group.
- With support from the Department/Office Manager oversee and manage the success of the key group metrics of revenue growth, staff charge-ability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
- Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices.
- Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
- Monitor quality standards and practices.
- Engage APRs on projects at their onset.
