Responsibilities Include:
- Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and inventory valuations. They also analyze variances between standard and actual costs, and investigate the causes of those variances.
- Maintain the cost accounting system and cost ledger. They may also work with IT to design and implement new systems.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for plant locations.
- Generate reports on productivity, scrap, and other metrics.
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, manufacturing, and accounting to gather cost-related data.
- Assist with external audits related to cost accounting.
- Provide actionable insights based on financial analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Provide recommendations to senior management to help achieve company goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years' of professional accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
