Insight Global is looking for an entry level CAD Technician/Engineering Technologist with proficiency in AutoCAD (or ArcGIS) to work fully in-office in Raleigh, NC with interest in the electric utilities (and telecommunications) engineering industry - prior industry preferred but not required - will be trained! This a 6 month contract-to-hire, meaning you will be converted full time (which includes PTO, Holiday Pay, etc.) after 6 months!
The Engineering Technologist works 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Ability to work half days on Fridays. There is full training provided on processes and the software utilized. This is an entry level role with room to grow within the company! The role focuses on designing work orders for power distribution projects supporting large and small energy companies and clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime hours in Raleigh, NC - NOT PART TIME OR REMOTE
- 1 year of professional, internship, or educational coursework experience related to CAD or GIS
- AutoCAD experience is preferred
- ArcGIS experience is preferred
- Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation to/from work (own vehicle preferred)
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check and a full drug test
- Having an open interest in learning about the power distribution, telecom & utilities design engineering industry - will be taught and trained on specifics!
