About the Role - We are currently seeking a Pre-Litigation Paralegal to handle personal injury claims from inception to settlement under the direction of Management.
Responsibilities
- Enter new case files into our Case Management System.
- Gather and analyze intake information, including MVA details, insurance, property damage, and medical providers, and enter this data into client files.
- Conduct full investigations for each case and document findings in FileVine.
- Maintain regular client contact to keep them informed on case status.
- Verify potential insurance coverage and maintain ongoing communication with insurance carriers.
- Manage clients' medical care by requesting and obtaining all relevant medical documentation.
- Explain MVA claim procedures to clients.
- Draft documents and correspondence, such as demand letters and billing inquiries.
- Handle and organize correspondence with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, and others, including demand and mediation packages, IME reports, and claim status updates.
- Communicate settlement negotiations between attorney, clients, and adjusters.
- Collect and organize documentation for damages, such as medical records, bills, subrogation liens, lost income, and property damage.
- Maintain organized case files and update diary reminders in FileVine to ensure timely action every 2-3 weeks.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in personal injury law and 2 years of paralegal experience (Required).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent client-facing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage priorities under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with personal injury law, motor vehicle accident claims, and insurance coverage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terms and insurance policies is beneficial.
