A client of Robert Half is seeking a Sr. Director, App Development to join their team with responsibilities' to software development, quality assurance, and L2 support operations, focusing on development and testing environments in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Streamline resource allocation to enhance scalable development of custom applications and systems across both development and QA teams.
- Develop a strategic framework for application development that aligns with business objectives across web and mobile platforms, backend services, enterprise integrations, and databases.
- Maintain architectural integrity and ensure applications meet the functional requirements of planners, buyers, supply chains, and store operators.
- Cultivate and inspire mid-level managers, tech leads, developers, and QA professionals, promoting an inclusive environment for both full-time employees and contractors.
- Empower technical teams to make well-informed decisions, uphold accountability, and adapt as needed to meet project objectives.
- Lead QA teams to enforce high-quality standards for applications vital to planners, buyers, marketing, and store operators, overseeing comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Supervise the management and optimization of cloud infrastructure, with a focus on development and testing environments to enhance workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in application development
- 5+ years in a leadership role, managing both onshore and offshore teams within a digital and cloud-first retail environment preferred.
- Understanding and or hands on experience with ERP environments, preferably SAP
- Skilled in setting and achieving OKRs, coaching and mentoring, employee development, strategic planning, and managing product and project lifecycles, as well as risk and change management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Adept at stakeholder management, fostering cross-functional collaboration, engaging in technical architecture discussions, solving complex problems, and managing conflicts effectively.
- Experienced in agile methodologies, including Scrum, XP programming, Kanban, and pair programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
