About the Job:
We are seeking a full-time (M-F) Receiving and Quality Clerk that will be responsible for managing deliveries, verifying shipment records, accepting shipments, and distributing materials and parts within the company. This person will also perform incoming inspections to ensure all received items meet quality standards, as well as overseeing gauge calibration and maintain accurate quality control documentation.
Essential Duties:
- Unloads freight carriers and signs freight bills of lading.
- Opens shipments, confirms that product quality and quantity are per the purchase order and engineering specifications, and documents measurements of all incoming inspections.
- Performs incoming inspection to ensure all received materials and parts meet the company's quality standards and specifications.
- Moves reject material to Quality Control hold on the screen.
- Accurately receives purchase orders. Stamp packing slip with receiving date.
- Works with purchasing, engineering, and other departments to resolve product quantity and quality concerns, over and/or under shipments.
- Puts proper month tag and part number on the correct product.
- Delivers product to the proper inventory location, department or personnel.
- Maintains and controls documentation related to quality control and shipment processes.
- Oversees quality control processes, including gauge calibration, to maintain equipment accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain records of calibration schedules and results.
- Ensure that all gauges are properly stored and maintained by industry standards.
- Implements and maintains 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices.
- Thoroughly understands and uses the Dumore Quality Plan in all phases of material control.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's degree preferred.
- One (1) year of related experience required. No experience required if incumbent has associate’s degree.
- Computer experience required.
- Must become a certified forklift driving within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees or vendors.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform metric conversions.
- Ability to apply sound judgement to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The ability to perform computer transactions and resolve inventory discrepancies.
