MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Attain BLS Instructor status within one month of employment, includes Healthcare Provider and Heart Saver First Aid courses.
2. Attain ACLS instructor status within three months of employment.
3. Attain PALS instructor status within three months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. One year of College level courses in a related area or experience in healthcare setting.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One year as an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Instructor or Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Instructor.
2. One year experience with adult education.

1. Conducts the American Heart Association course(s) according to the guidelines of the American Heart Association.
2. Responsible for facilitating video presentations, instructor lectures, skills demonstrations, testing students, answering questions, and completing post-course rosters/paperwork.
3. Provides remediation to students as needed.
4. Collects and submits all required paperwork (rosters, course skills testing forms, written exams if needed, and student course evaluations).
5. Develops a schedule of appropriate number of AHA training programs.
6. Design and implement various and appropriate Emergency Response courses in keeping with identified learner needs.
7. Collaborate with the AHA Coordinator to maintain instructor files.
8. Verifies location and times of the courses within the Learning Management System.
9. Monitor and renew all instructors.
10. Ensures availability of AHA training equipment and classrooms.
11. Maintains and repairs all training mannequins and other related equipment.
12. Ensure adherence to American Heart Association requirements for all classes, instructors and guidelines.
13. Assess learner needs based on performance during AHA courses and modify teaching methodologies according to adult learning theory.

1. Must be physically capable of correctly demonstrating mannequin skills on all mannequins (infant, child, adult) on the ground/floor/table.
2. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment, when working/moving equipment for setup, storage, and cleaning.
