IPC, International, Inc., the global trade association for the electronics manufacturing industry, seeks a Psychometrician. The Psychometrician reports to the Senior Psychometrician and manages and assists in the completion of the Department’s work and projects in a timely manner. Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other IPC departments and staff members and with organizations and individuals outside the Association.
This position manages operational examination development activities related to psychometrics, psychometric aspects of major projects. Conducts operational examination development activities related to psychometrics including job analysis, standard setting, calibration, scoring, and data analyses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Examination Development – 40%
- Test and item analysis.
- Equating, linking & scaling of tests.
- Interacts with Subject Matter Expert’s to conduct job analysis, standard setting, measurement explanations and other appropriate topics.
Examination Maintenance – 40%
- Ensure that item pools meet the needs of the program.
- Facilitate and conduct Item Writing Workshops.
- Produce technical documentation related to item, test, and program performance.
- Perform initial and continuous psychometric program review.
- Develop a plan that ensures that examination administration complies with industry standards for security, validity, reliability, fairness, and defensibility.
Candidate Examinations & Scoring – 20%
- Investigates and assists in resolving issues dealing with candidate score results.
- Compiles quantitative analysis data for IPC’s examinations.

Master’s or PhD in Educational Measurement or related.
Minimum 3 years of experience in large scale testing and / or adaptive testing; or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Experience in applied test development, including job task analysis, analysis, and reporting of large-scale examinations.
Experience in test theory (IRT and Classical).
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word & Outlook.
Knowledgeable in various LMS and item-banking software.
