The Quality Auditor is responsible for the inspection of machined work pieces and assemblies at inspection or machine station to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses visual standards, inspection standards, and other basic standards to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
- Performs inspections as required by provided standards and instructs personnel on how to perform sorts internally and externally.
- Maintains records / reports of audit results (sort and rework, moisture analysis reports) and HFI ledger and compliance testing log.
- Capable of using basic gages (with minimal training) that are commonly used for dimensional analysis.
- Ability to operate optical comparator, surface roughness tester, contracer, moisture analysis tester, load tester, burst tester and fork truck.
- Capable of auditing to Packaging Standards to assure packaging conformance.
- Reports findings to Inspection Supervisor.
- Travel to customer locations to perform sorts.
- May create and issue temporary work instructions for rework and sorting.
- Uses independent judgement to determine whether parts are good or scrap.
- Ability to drive forklift in order to move parts.
- Works closely with Supervisors, QA Technicians, and other personnel on quality, scrap, and productivity issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training.
