We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting training sessions, and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate risks within the workplace.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training and development programs on safety practices, including first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with management to investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on EPA regulations and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Fabricate safety equipment or tools as needed to enhance workplace safety measures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety roles or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation law and regulations.
- Familiarity with EPA standards and environmental health practices is a plus.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or similar training is preferred.
- Experience in training development for safety programs is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
