Provide physician services with a focus on geriatric care, addressing the specific health needs of elderly residents Offer medical consultation, develop treatment plans, and monitor each resident's response to treatment, Before admitting residents to an acute hospital for inpatient care, discuss pending admissions with the Home Administrator and/or the attending physician Perform the physician's role in pre-screening potential residents and conducting physical exams upon admission Review referrals made by PAs and NPs to ensure that residents are directed to the most appropriate medical specialists or services Provide clinical consultation to NPs, guiding them on patient care management, particularly for complex cases or those requiring specialized attention Ensure that all medical duties performed at the facility adhere to the relevant state and federal regulations, including Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and Titles 42 and 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations Oversee and manage the medical care for residents in the long term care facility Conduct administrative reviews of all medical care policies and procedures at the facility, ensuring they align with current standards and regulatory requirements. Assist the facility in preparing for surveys and inspections by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the California Department of Healthcare Services. Ensure that all medical duties performed at the facility adhere to the relevant state and federal regulations, including Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and Titles 42 and 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations Assist in arranging continuous physician coverage to address medical emergencies that may arise at the facility Help recruit and obtain the services of qualified medical professionals to serve as consultants
