Job description
Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Roadway Superintendent to join our Road and Bridge Team. We have been working in the New Bern area for over 15 years and we have room for advancement with competitive pay and benefits in the New Bern, NC area.
The ideal candidate has experience in NCDOT roadway construction and/or heavy earthworks and civil construction operations. The individual should have knowledge of erosion control and traffic control operations as well. The individual should know how to read plans and specifications and understand payment mechanisms on large construction projects. The individual must work well with others and be able to manage multiple teams/crews of roadway construction personnel.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple roadway construction crews
- Schedule and organize crew activities several weeks in advance
- Coordinate with DOT inspection personnel on active operations and testing as needed
- Perform QC checks against the plans and specifications
- Record and document the work that is performed on a daily basis
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 5 years experience leading roadway construction teams
- 5 years experience as an equipment operator and / or on a roadway construction or heavy earthmoving crew.
- Time management and communication skills
- Basic budgeting knowledge
- Daily and weekly reporting and timekeeping knowledge
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
Ability to Relocate:
- New Bern, NC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
Work Location: In person
