OVERVIEW: Responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of network infrastructure and servers. Maintains the operability and stability of servers and networking equipment for Local & Wide Area Networks; design, implement and maintain security measures to protect IT Infrastructure and systems; develops project plans, processes, and procedures; evaluates new technologies and provides both tactical & strategic direction for the servers and network platforms & configurations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the current and future technological needs of the organization including, but not limited to document imaging (Onbase), HPE Servers, VMWare ESX Host Servers, Hyper-V Host Servers, Arctic Wolf Manage Detection and Response (MDR), HP Storage Area Network (SAN), and Networking Equipment such as Cisco Catalyst 9400, Cisco Catalyst 9300, Cisco Firewall 3110, Cisco ISR 4451, Cisco Meraki MX85, Cisco Meraki MX75, Cisco Meraki MX67, Cisco Meraki Wireless access Point (MR56) and Cisco Meraki switches.
- Assist in the design and implementation of security related functions for servers and networking equipment, including User ID and password control, backup systems and procedures, and disaster recovery plans and tests.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and responds to incidents; analyze security breaches and prepare incident reports; assist in conducting vulnerability assessment and penetration testing; configure and manage Cisco firewall/router/switches, Cisco endpoint protection, Cisco Umbrella and all Cisco Meraki devices.
- Monitor Arctic Wolf Dashboard for cybersecurity concerns and respond to tickets according to the documented protocols.
- Collaborate with MIS team to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Investigate, recommend, and test existing and new technologies and write bid specifications and justifications for the purchase of IT hardware, software and services. Coordinate with IT vendors to ensure the company receives the best product and services at the most reasonable cost.
- Assist in the setup, configuration , and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Servers, Oracle Servers, SQL Servers, Onbase Document Imaging, Web Server, File Server, TrackIt, Websense, Cisco Endpoint Protection, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, System Center Configuration Manager, Veeam Backup, Arctic Wolf, Solarwinds Monitoring, Terminal Server, Rightfax Server, Wireless Networks, VPN and in-house company programs.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and configuration of network hardware and software including new employees, training, audits, and office moves, etc.
- Perform standard system administration including account/security/performance management, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware/software configurations for the Enterprise Windows System.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of records, reports, and documentation on system and application program specifications and configurations i.e. backup documentation, help desk instructions, IP address records, hardware & software installation guidelines, floor plans, network diagram, monthly equipment configurations, and hardware & software licenses or serial numbers.
- Respond to end-user network questions, determining the nature of the problem, devising proper solutions and initiating corrective actions.
- Continue personal development and education to keep abreast with industry development and technologies.
- Travel to branch offices to assist employees at those locations, as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering
- 7 years in network administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Windows server and Cisco networking equipment environment preferred
- Microsoft Certified Software Engineer preferred
