Position Description:
Manages all aspects of complex projects from inception to conclusion. Project managers ensure workers are following safety procedures and standards.

As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
Facilitates and troubleshoots the myriad of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating and development, and design projects.
Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
Responds to inquiries about projects.
Chairs various project review and pre-submittal meetings.
Establishes and maintains liaison as required with boards, committees and commissions.
Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Performs project design for civil engineering projects.
Coordinates schedules of staff and other interested parties.

Employees may be frequently asked to:
Access the sites unassisted.
Conduct walk downs of site including stairs.
Climb stairs to differing elevations.
Climb fixed ladders to different elevations, range in height from 6’ to 25’.
Climb step ladders/ext. ladders as required.
Access scaffold utilizing scaffold ladders.
Navigate over/under obstructions on elevated platforms.
Don/Doff protective equipment unassisted (Ty-vex suits/PC’s)
Don/Doff Versa Flow respirator as required.
Capable of being able to Don/Doff fall protection and removal unassisted.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
High school graduation, or its equivalent
At least six years of experience in project management of civil engineering design and construction projects or related field; or graduation from an accredited university with a degree in engineering, construction management, or related field and two years of progressively responsible project management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of safety experience
Microsoft Office experience
Related safety engineering certifications
5 years minimum safety engineering experience
Nuclear industry experience (preferred)
