Job Title: Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction (Roadway and Bridge)

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Florida (can be either in Tampa or Orlando!). The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of roadway and bridge construction projects, coordinating efforts with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe project delivery. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and managing heavy civil construction projects focused on roadway and bridge construction.
- Support scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting for project milestones, tracking progress, and managing resources.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective project execution and adherence to timelines.
- Assist with document control, including submittals, RFI management, and project closeout documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and reports for daily activities, costs, and productivity.
- Participate in project meetings, providing engineering insight and solutions to construction challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to identify and resolve potential construction issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on roadway and bridge projects (preferred).
- Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6).
- Working knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction materials, methods, and project documentation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams, including field personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
