About the Role: A renowned company known for its robust capital investments and seamless onboarding process is seeking a Construction Manager for their heavy highway construction division. The company specializes in competitively bidding major regional projects generally valued around $30M, focusing on maximizing profitability and ensuring the highest safety standards. Primary Function: The Construction Manager will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed cost-effectively, efficiently, and safely. This role includes managing project managers and engineers, fostering effective communication with all parties, and participating in the estimating process.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee weekly job meetings to ensure projects run smoothly and safely.
- Conduct regular progress meetings with project owners.
- Prepare and review pay estimates for stakeholders.
- Manage timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure daily reviews of time sheets for proper cost coding.
- Assist in material ordering and subcontractor scheduling.
- Maintain accurate project logs and negotiate additional work scopes.
- Ensure accurate budgets, plans, and supplies management.
- Prepare short-term schedules and weekly cost projections.
- Cost Control:
- Assist with initial project setup and monitor job costs.
- Participate in weekly and monthly reviews of costs and job issues.
- Scheduling:
- Create and maintain a CPM schedule for assigned projects.
- Estimation:
- Support the construction team with bid estimation and pre-bid scheduling.
- Resource and Safety Management:
- Collaborate with superintendents and divisions to maximize project productivity.
- Lead job site safety initiatives and integrate safety into all tasks.
- Other Functions:
- Mentor and train other construction employees as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager on large infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating/scheduling software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage stress, work overtime if required, and conduct meetings effectively.
- PENNDOT Experience is a must
