Financial Analyst
12 Month Contract
Location: Ocoee, FL
This financial analyst will join an active finance team supporting one of Florida's largest public agencies in the implementation of their new financial management system. This individual will work alongside technical teams and sit within the finance department. A background in financial system management, support, implementation, migration or enhancement is preferred for this position. Someone with a passion for financial management and system migration will be an excellent fit with this team. A detail-oriented approach will be needed as all prior financial system data must be recorded, saved, cleaned and organized ahead of the new systems implementation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required for this role and passion for project work will be favored.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed current and future state process maps of the agency financial operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and alignment with Florida PALM system requirements.
- Lead the identification, documentation, and optimization of the agencies financial processes.
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis and reconciliation of the agencies Chart of Accounts (COA) to align with the new financial system being migrated into the agency environment over a yearlong project.
- Oversee the migration of financial data to the new system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and implement new Standard Operating Procedures for financial operations in a new system.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality and data accuracy.
- Working alongside technology teams as they gather requirements and work to migrate the new statewide financial data management system into the agencies environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Extensive process mapping experience and process documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems and data analysis tools that are used in agency at least over 100+ in workforce size.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle or Transformation Implementations
- Power Query, PowerPivot is a plus
- Process modeling software such as IBM Blueworks or Visio
