One of Greylock's Series A investments in data privacy/governance is looking to grow their team. The founding and executive team are repeat founders with have over 70 patents between them and are backed by one of the top investors in cybersecurity. They are expanding the engineering team and are hiring across a few open roles.
The company is building a graph powered metadata lake that will allow enterprises far deeper visibility, security and control over their data assets than exist on the market today. With agentic AI workflows, the platform will allow seamless interaction, insights and querying across data all whilst keeping security and compliance as the primary focus.
Location: Menlo Park, hybrid 3 days
Stage: Series A
Team: ~20 people
Ideal profile: 5 to 10+ yrs of software engineering experience (sorry, no new grads at this time)
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in backend software engineering, with a focus on distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and building scalable, high-performance systems.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Go, Python, C++, or similar, with a deep understanding of language-specific best practices, performance optimization, and concurrency.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as fault tolerance, CAP theorem, consistency models, partitioning, replication, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Mesos).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including services like EC2, S3, RDS, and managed Kubernetes services.
- In-depth understanding of data storage systems, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases, and distributed data stores.
