Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. Working with our nationally renowned Design-Build team, this role will support the compilation of designs, estimates, and final construction of food production facilities and standalone industrial refrigeration projects built throughout the United States. Candidates who meet the requirements will be given consideration for a position in program management, which involves leading a team and serving as the main point of contact for clients on projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and/or acquiring electrical design plans, specifications, and narratives through close collaboration with clients, external design consultants, and internal engineers during the conceptual and final design phases
- Finishing the conceptual and detailed electrical take-offs (service entrance, power, low voltage systems, etc.) so that they may be included in the project's total budget
- When necessary, help management identify, prequalify, and bid on electrical scopes of work. Making sure the right building materials are used in the plans and carefully examining consultant and subcontractor/vendor shop drawings to make sure the design goal is fulfilled
- Giving other D/B team members technical guidance
- Helping project managers secure regulatory and/or local planning permission for electrical scopes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the design and construction of industrial or manufacturing facilities.
- Strong understanding of building codes, materials, and techniques
- Capacity to put bid set (RFP) drawing packages together
- Capacity to communicate with outside electrical design experts as necessary
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
