Join forces with the firm's Director of Attorney Development and other Managers to craft and execute cutting-edge programs aimed at onboarding, training, mentoring, and retaining attorneys, particularly associates. This hybrid role will see you working from the Los Angeles office, with responsibilities extending to the Western Region offices, including Orange County, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Silicon Valley, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City.
Duties & Responsibilities of Attorney Development Manager:
Firmwide Projects:
- Lead and contribute to associate retreats, review processes, first-year associate orientations, legal writing academies, and mentor programs.
Regional Responsibilities of Attorney Development Manager:
- Identify and implement effective training methods.
- Coordinate and facilitate local programming, including CLE programs.
- Oversee associate engagement and provide orientation to Professional Development department and programming.
- Integrate new shareholders and associates, offering strategic career development guidance.
- Monitor and support the mentor program.
- Regular travel to offices as needed for programming.
Global Practice Group Responsibilities:
- Plan annual professional development programs with Global Practice Group Heads (PGH).
- Collaborate with shareholders on practice group training initiatives.
- Manage course catalogs, resources, and competencies.
- Evaluate and enhance programming content and processes.
Qualifications for Attorney Development Manager:
- Juris Doctor degree required.
- Strong project management skills.
- Minimum 8-10 years of attorney professional development experience; large law firm experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven success in establishing and managing career development functions in a multi-office environment.
