Hine Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, to specialize in the design of semiconductor automation equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility and scope.
- Design high precision mechanical parts using proper tolerancing, material selection, surface treatments etc.
- Responsible for all documentation including but not limited to: drawings, schematics, engineering change requests and manuals.
- Design cost effective complete semiconductor automated systems utilizing all appropriate standards such as SEMI UL CE etc.
- Complete DFMEA, FEA and CFD analysis.
- Specify sensory, power, and necessary controls systems.
- Works with production and customers to improve existing designs.
- Works with suppliers to oversee the quality and manufacturability of designed components or systems.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to other team members on given projects.
- Works and directs contract engineering firms.
- Works with outside manufacturers and distributors to select OEM suitable parts.
- Work interdepartmentally for final, assembly, test and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Develops new suppliers for specialized production parts and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The position will not have any direct supervisory responsibility but will be expected to lead major product introductions and provide day to day instructions to other team members as they relate to these projects. Cross-functional and intra-company team coordination on an on-going basis.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and
- 7-10 years of mechanical design experience.
- Mandatory 5+yrs of related automation design experience, preferably with a semiconductor automation background.
- 5+ years of using Autodesk inventor or SolidWorks with Inventor preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong creative and analytic thinking skills.
- Highly organized self starter that can stick to preapproved timelines and schedules while communicating status of progress.
- Must excel in individual component design, GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, general troubleshooting and to perform complex system tests.
- Excellent manual dexterity and mechanical assembly skills.
- Working knowledge of integrated systems to include electronics and all mechanical assemblies.
- Working knowledge of blueprints, drawings, schematics, BOMs, manufacturing documentation systems, and other related material.
- Ability to communicate effectively within the organization and directly to customers.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to develop solutions to manufacturing problems, or to predict trends.
- Ability to operate a Windows® based computer workstation with MS Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation.
- The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
