Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for an IR/Cath Lab Technologist to join our team! *$15,000 Sign-on depending on experience*
JOB SUMMARY: This position includes a broad range of responsibilities, including assisting physicians in IR and catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) utilizing the C-arm, patient care activities, scrubbing and assisting physician during procedures, assisting with x-ray equipment, performs procedures on patients and is conscious of radiation exposure and contrast media used. Incumbent will be proficient in all responsibilities of a Cardiovascular/IR Technologist. Also, duties include communication of instructions to patients pertaining to examinations and preps, in an accurate and caring manner. Prepares and administers necessary contrast materials under the direction of the Radiologist/Cardiologist. Recognizes patient conditions warranting immediate attention and responds appropriately. Proficient in the use of emergency equipment. Responsible to assist in monitor and document all procedural activities. Other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities
IR/Cath Lab Technologist
- Pre-procedure duties consist of checking clinically important aspects related to the patient entering into the IR/cath lab.
- Assists with the interventional radiologist or cardiologist with diagnostic angiographic procedures, cardiac catheterization, as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist in scrub, circulate, and monitor as needed.
- Prepares patient and all necessary equipment for procedure, operates needed equipment.
- Produces high quality medical imaging through the use of cine-radiography using the ALARA methodology under direct supervision of Physician.
- Posts and processes all exams prior to transferring images to PACS.
- Navigates workstations regarding image retrieval and archiving.
- Responsible for having all necessary supplies and x-ray equipment ready and available for each assigned case in collaboration with the IR/Cath lab Registered Nurse.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health employees in coordinating the plan of care and facilitating patient outcomes.
- Provides care based on established standards of practice, policies and protocols.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills for problem solving and anticipating patient care needs.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Cardiovascular-interventional technologists must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and prefer additional advanced-level cardiovascular-interventional technology training. Current BLS issued by American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider, ACLS preferred.
Prefer minimum of 3 years of IR or cardiology catheterization lab or IR lab experience. Experience in running of the x-ray equipment, PACS, and contrast administration. Experience in Cardiac Catheterization and or Interventional Radiology procedures in the role of scrub, circulate, and monitor.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge and skills, comprehensive knowledge of cardiac instrumentation, equipment, procedures, and the care required for many diverse patients.
