We are currently seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join our team as a technical resource for our Sales and Marketing Department to support the Aerospace, Defense, Test & Measurement, Industrial, Space, Communication and Medical markets.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the clients' applications and offering technical solutions related to any of the Teledyne’s five product line families.
- Work with a team of outside sales representatives, travel to targeted customers, conduct Webinar training, and resolve technical issues to win (close) the design.
- Offer technical support, both pre- and post-sales to direct and POS customers
- Create weekly and monthly status reports on designs and opportunities.
- Work with design engineering team, manufacturing, and other functional areas for new product development and definition.
- Perform competitive analysis and gather customer feedback to recommend product improvements and additional catalog offerings.
- Work with marketing and website manger to create promotional material and advertisements.
- Maintain datasheets and catalogs of Teledyne’s five product line families.
- Attend tradeshows and meetings to promote Teledyne’s products and capabilities
- Work with inside sales team and quality department to support the RMA process.
- Work in a CRM environment to record the service and technical support provided to clients and follow up when necessary.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree required.
- 3-5 years previous experience required in electronic and Fiber Optic Harsh Environment Interconnects applications and design.
- Applied knowledge in High Voltage interconnect designs and custom engineered circular and rectangular interconnect solutions for Aerospace, Defense, and high-end Industrial applications.
- Applied knowledge of RF Design and/or related coursework: RF transmission lines, impedance matching, and Digital signal transmission.
- Applied knowledge in complex cable assembly design including custom engineered interconnect cable assemblies for Aerospace and Defense Electronic applications.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple concurrent projects is required.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), coordination, interpersonal & organizational skills
- Proactive: driven to succeed and able to work independently within established timeframes
- Excellent computer skills, MS Office, Desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus), CAD skills in sold works is desirable.
- Candidate will frequently sit, handle, talk/hear, be exposed to moving mechanical posts; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands/arms, lift up to 25lbs; vision abilities include color vision and ability to adjust focus. Noise level is moderate.
