A Community Banking is seeking a CRA & Fair Banking Director to lead and enhance the bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Fair Banking Program, ensuring alignment with all regulatory standards, including CRA, ECOA, FHA, HMDA, and UDAAP. This role will support the Compliance Department in driving the bank’s community reinvestment strategy and ensuring the firm meets federal and state regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead CRA & Fair Banking Programs: Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and frameworks to support the Bank’s CRA and Fair Banking Program.
- Drive Community Reinvestment Initiatives and Strategy: Assist in designing and updating the bank's Community Reinvestment Program, collaborating with internal executive stakeholders on CRA-qualified investments, loans, community support initiatives, and employee volunteer programs.
- Chair the Community Reinvestment Act Committee: Serve as the bank's CRA Officer, overseeing all CRA-related data collection, including HMDA and small business data, and ensuring compliance with CRA requirements.
- Compliance and Reporting: Conduct fair lending statistical analyses, monitor fair banking practices, and produce actionable insights for executive management. Design and implement effective reporting processes for CRA and HMDA data to enhance transparency and accountability.
- Internal and External Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with CRA auditors, examiners, and regulators. Prepare and present the annual CRA self-assessment to the Compliance Committee and the Board.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Develop risk-based action plans around CRA and fair lending regulations. Identify, address, and escalate program gaps or areas for improvement as needed.
- Community Impact and Program Development: Collaborate with business units to craft lending, investment, and service initiatives tailored to meet the needs of low- and moderate-income households.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in CRA, fair banking regulations, and lending compliance.
- Strong analytical abilities, particularly in fair lending analysis.
- Experience using softwares Risk Exec and / or CRA Wiz
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting processes, especially related to HMDA and CRA.
This role is 4 days a week onsite in New York City.
