Our client is a Catholic educational organization in Racine, WI, seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer with high integrity. This role will support the organization’s mission of excellence in academics, faith formation, and student development. This position manages the financial team to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure the integrity of financial processes. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO contributes to the strategic direction of the organization.
Qualifications/Expectations:
- CPA required; MBA preferred
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong knowledge in cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and accounting procedures
- Innovative approach to budgeting and risk management
- Banking experience desired (e.g., loans, deposits)
- Familiarity with school choice programs and school accounting practices
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Audit
- Establish and oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting systems
- Analyze and interpret financial data for leadership and stakeholders
- Direct and evaluate accounting software solutions and updates
- Monitor accuracy in financial data recorded by accounting staff
Budget and Financial Reporting
- Lead annual budgeting process, including cash flow, income, expense projections, and capital expenditures
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with analysis and recommendations
Stakeholder Relations
- Collaborate with senior management and admissions to set enrollment goals
- Represent the organization at parish functions and community events
- Ensure sound financial practices for the sustainability and growth of Catholic education
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- 10+ years of senior-level accounting experience, with 5+ years in management
- Public or nonprofit sector experience preferred
