Sales Operations Analyst
The Sales Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting the sales and brand ambassador team by optimizing sales processes, analyzing sales data, and providing actionable insights. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of sales operations and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement across assortment, pricing, distribution, promotion and others.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sales initiatives and strategies. Provide recommendations based on data analysis. Ongoing and ad hoc analysis is required.
- Assist in sales forecasting and budgeting processes. Work closely with sales leadership to develop accurate sales forecasts and targets.
- Maintain and optimize the customer relationship management (CRM) system to ensure accurate and up-to-date sales data. Train sales team members on CRM best practices.
- Regularly accesses or solicits retailer data to conduct inventory analysis for reordering to achieve customer in-stock goals without driving excess inventory.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and product management, to support sales initiatives and drive business growth.
- Provide analytical support to the sales team, including territory planning, quota setting, and incentive program analysis.
- Develop productive working relationships with key retailer contacts to fulfill inventory, align on forecasts and promotional activity.
- Evaluate and improve sales processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience accepted.
- At least 1 year of related experience in CPG, alcohol or cannabis a plus.
- Strong analytic skill set with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on key performance indicators.
- Understanding of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales automation tools. We currently deploy Outfield App.
- Disciplined with time and project management skills; possess the ability to set priorities and be accountable.
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and interpreting data from multiple sources.
- Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment and adaptable to change.
Reports to: Head of Sales
Location: Dimondale, MI (Greater Lansing Area). Onsite 3-4 days/week
Compensation: Salary/Exempt 50k – 70k
