About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, including plasma cutters, brake presses, and CNC equipment, and will be responsible for minimizing downtime and improving equipment efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all shop equipment, including Messer 400amp plasma machines, 500-ton plate rolls, 900-ton and 400-ton brake presses, welding machines, forklifts, and CNC machining equipment (lathes and mills).
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all production and support equipment.
- Specific proven experience in troubleshooting electrical production and support equipment preferred.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance tasks and minimize disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, performing equipment safety checks regularly.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
- Manage maintenance supplies and spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with CNC machinery, plasma cutters, and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime and on-call as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and extreme temperatures.
