About The Role
As Quality Assurance Manager you will assist with the of development Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies, food safety standards, government regulations, and industry best practices including GMP and HACCP/HARPC. The QA Manager will integrate quality assurance into all functions and roles.

- Drive continuous improvement and or partner with stakeholders in continuous improvement projects
- Implement and maintain Quality policies and procedures at all levels within the facility.
- Foster and maintain positive Food Safety and Quality culture within the facility.
- Monitor and verify corrective and preventive action procedures for troubleshooting production concerns and customer product issues.
- Manages team building and evaluates the skills and training needed of the hourly QA team members. Participates in and contributes to the continuous improvement of the department.
- Develop and execute training programs that support the Company’s objectives regarding quality and food safety
- Support other departments in accordance with business requirements
- Effectively implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure company compliance with all FSMA, 21 CFR Part 117, GFSI, local regulations, and customer requirements.
- Ensure the company’s Food Safety compliance to new or revised local, state or federal regulations as outlined by the Food and Drug Administration. Remain current on trends and changes affecting Food Safety.
- Manage the GMP Audit process by inspecting the facility and production floor to ensure compliance with food specifications and food safety practices. Facilitate the process through training across departments, performing & completing GMP Audits and associated reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to document control parameters and continuously monitor production records which validate product produced is within specification, is traceable, and is safe to the consumer.
- Serves as alternate GFSI Practitioner
- Serve as alternate to hold and release
- Ensures Food Safety system verification and validation activities are completed according to specified schedule.
- Ensures Pre-requisite programs are completed according to a specified policy and schedule.
- Ensures adherence to all quality procedures and policies.
- Maintain overall responsibility for Key Performance Indicators & inputs to department budget
- Lead and manage regulatory and 3rd party audits such as GFSI, Organic, Kosher, customer audits and FDA regulatory visits.

The Minimum And/or Technical Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Science, Food Science or related field, or 5 plus years QA food processing experience.
- Ability to define problems,
- Collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Certifications in HACCP, SQF, PCQI, statistical process control and analysis or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (May be required to provide proof of certifications)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
