EHS Manager
Location: Grand Forks, ND 58203
Salary: Targeting $90-$125K Max w/ 10% bonus potential
Position Summary:
The EHS Manager will support driving EHS excellence at the site level by leading compliance, implementing safety programs, and promoting a secure working environment. This role is essential in fostering a proactive safety culture, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with corporate EHS & RM standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of environmental, health, safety, and risk management initiatives in line with corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety, environmental, and security issues, proposing mitigation strategies and advising leadership.
- Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee regulatory and internal reporting accuracy and timeliness, monitoring site metrics to proactively address trends.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, site engineering, and other departments to strengthen site-wide EHS practices.
- Manage the Plant SDS Program, PPE records, and Brady Lock Pro (LOTO) documentation.
- Administer the Worker’s Compensation program and ensure injured employees receive timely care.
- Participate in site safety committee, divisional EHS meetings, and audits, ensuring best practice sharing and consistency across sites.
- Provide coaching and support to new EHS&RM leaders, facilitating training for EHS management software and ensuring high standards in safety protocols.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct safety orientations for new hires and assist in the plant’s hearing conservation program.
- Participate in environmental audits and facilitate "Near Miss" program reporting.
- Serve as a technical lead for Lock Out/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, supporting annual updates.
- Lead and coordinate regular review calls with EHS leaders, sharing best practices and regulatory updates.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to support program rollouts and audits.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a technical discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years in EHS management, with expertise in OSHA/EPA regulations.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in safety principles, risk assessment, PSM (Process Safety Management), and hazard recognition.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, change management, and team leadership.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with EMIS tools (e.g., Intelex, Site Hawk, or Alchemy) and other EHS management software preferred.
