The Litigation Docketing Clerk will play a critical role in managing the firm’s litigation calendar and ensuring compliance with court deadlines. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze incoming legal documents, including court filings, pleadings, and motions.
- Maintain and update the litigation calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met and accurately recorded.
- Docket key dates and deadlines in the case management system.
- Prepare and distribute reminder notices for upcoming deadlines and hearings to relevant attorneys and staff.
- Assist in tracking and organizing discovery documents and evidence.
- Coordinate with court clerks and other legal professionals to ensure proper filing and retrieval of documents.
- Respond to inquiries regarding case statuses and docketing questions.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the litigation team.
Qualifications:
- bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal environment, preferably in litigation or docketing, is highly desirable.
- Proficient in legal terminology and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
