Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will oversee and contribute to large-scale wind projects in the Colorado region. This position focuses on evaluating project drawings, managing RFIs (Requests for Information), and ensuring compliance with design specifications. The scope includes supporting three large wind facilities near Siebert, CO, with the first two projects starting construction soon, followed by a third project. Additionally, the engineer will work on smaller capital projects within Colorado. Candidates should have renewable generation project experience and be willing/able to travel to the site.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7 years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in renewable generation projects (construction or engineering design).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for design conflicts and compliance issues.
- Familiarity with NCRs, RFIs, and contract scope management.
- Proficiency in ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and SAP (preferred).
Non-Technical Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong teamwork abilities, preferably in a large, matrixed organization.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to track and document progress across multiple teams.
Preferred Background:
- Experience working with utilities or design firms.
- Engineering training or certification toward becoming a professional engineer.
