1. Job Summary
· Responsible for new product sales at specific targeted accounts in addition to promoting services such as machining, repair, fabrication, and field services
· Sales efforts will be supported by inside sales group; however, a high standard of customer service will require personal involvement with quoting, coordination, and giving clear direction to internal personnel in order to ensure all work is executed according to customer standards and deadlines
· Interact with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure deadlines and deliveries are met.
· This job requires an understanding of the following as they relate to meeting the needs of the customer as well as planning, executing and measuring results:
o The John H Carter Company selling process
o The John H Carter Company TCC (Total Customer Commitment) process
· Availability is key to the success of this position including being accessible and able to communicate frequently by phone or via email
· Prompt, accurate results are routine
· It requires the handling of multiple tasks with many unexpected interruptions
· The job calls for the responsiveness and energy to ensure customer satisfaction is met and needs are addressed in a timely manner.
· While training in certain, specific equipment is offered, the successful candidate must be diligent in learning on their own from time to time
· Travel to customer and principal sites is required
· Serve in the weekend on-call rotation
2. Experience & Education
· Minimum 5+ years of Sales experience is preferred in an industrial equipment environment, preferably dealing with pumps and process equipment sales and service, but not required
· In the absence of a specific Pump and Process Equipment background, experience with other industrial rotating equipment sold into the chemical, petrochemical, refining, oil & gas industries, as well as municipalities will be considered
· In the absence of sales experience, a willingness to train in an inside sales and applications capacity is recommended prior to elevating into outside sales
· An understanding of Project Level sales processes is also preferred
· Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge in the sales, service and repair of API, ANSI and general service centrifugal pumps and other petrochemical process equipment
· Experience with and/or technical knowledge of other petrochemical equipment categories including (but not limited to) positive displacement pumps, mechanical seals and seal systems, seal less pumps (magnetic drive and canned motor), air operated diaphragm pumps, agitators, pressure vessels and piping systems, etc.
· A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university

4. Typical Duties & Responsibilities
· Receive phone calls, faxes and emails from external & internal customers which must be handled on a timely basis.
· Utilize core products and resources as solutions to customer’s daily needs, including generating quotes, specifying and applying products, and executing work internally to deliver results.
· Coordinate and lead internal resources and efforts on larger projects to complete work as needed.
· Understand and ensure that sales efforts and workflows are aligned with the goals and strategies of the business unit
· Support JHC Sales personnel when required for the pursuit of corporate sales initiatives
· Understand and ensure that the JHC TCC (Total Customer Commitment) standards are upheld at all times
· Work closely with and support the JHC product principals when required to do so
· Actively and enthusiastically attend required and preferred training
· Actively and enthusiastically support JHC colleagues at all times
· Actively and enthusiastically participate in the weekend on-call rotation
· Always build and cultivate solid relationships and promote a team atmosphere
· Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times, regardless of location
· Travel throughout the JHC geography may be required
