On behalf of our client, a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm, ResourceTek is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This remote-eligible position allows the selected individual to work from their residence, provided it is a distraction-free environment. The role primarily focuses on GIG West/Power Generation Industrial and Government Projects and involves work across all U.S. states.
Job Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will contribute to multi-discipline projects, emphasizing fossil and hydro power generation. Preferred candidates will have familiarity with processes at utilities such as Pacific Gas & Electric or Southern California Edison. The role involves designing and reviewing electrical systems for power generation projects, ensuring they meet project objectives and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and/or review deliverables, including:
- Single-line diagrams
- Three-line diagrams
- AC/DC elementary drawings
- Equipment and switchboard wiring diagrams
- Bills of materials
- Vendor mechanism drawings
- Logic diagrams
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage projects to ensure completion on time, within budget, and in line with client requirements.
- Participate in and/or lead design review meetings.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide technical expertise for low and medium-voltage power distribution, motor controls, and interfacing with DCS/PLC systems.
- Utilize power distribution modeling software (e.g., ETAP).
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Experience:
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in fossil and hydro power generation projects.
- Proficiency with multi-discipline project coordination.
Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required (California preferred).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison, or other utility processes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in high-performance teams.
- Willingness to travel for field data gathering and client meetings.
