Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented International Logistics Specialist with experience in the industrial sector to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in managing and optimizing international supply chain operations, ensuring seamless movement of goods across borders while adhering to regulatory compliance, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan, manage, and execute the international shipment of goods, including raw materials, equipment, and finished products.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics providers to secure competitive rates and schedules.
Customs and Compliance:
- Ensure all shipments comply with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry-specific standards.
- Prepare and verify documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and export declarations.
Supply Chain Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
- Implement strategies to mitigate risks related to international shipping, such as delays, damages, or geopolitical issues.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments to coordinate inventory and delivery schedules.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, negotiating contracts and evaluating performance.
Inventory and Warehouse Coordination:
- Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of international shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels to align with production schedules and customer demands.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Track shipment statuses and key logistics metrics to identify trends and inefficiencies.
- Prepare reports on freight costs, transit times, and performance KPIs for leadership review.
Problem-Solving and Crisis Management:
- Address and resolve issues related to transportation, customs clearance, or supply chain disruptions in a timely manner.
- Develop contingency plans for unforeseen events affecting international logistics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of international logistics experience, preferably in the industrial sector.
- Proficient knowledge of global trade regulations, export/import compliance, and customs procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams and external partners.
- Expertise in logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
