Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction Industry
We're recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team in the construction sector. This role focuses on processing accounts payable for multiple projects, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time, and supporting our client's fast-paced project schedules. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist has a background in construction or similar industries and enjoys keeping financial operations running smoothly.
Compensation: $50,000-$60,000/year plus potential project completion bonuses.
Location: Berlin, CT (On-site).

Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding to construction projects and general ledger accounts.
- Review and approve expense reports and purchase orders in alignment with company policies.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure prompt and accurate payment of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Reconcile statements, identify discrepancies, and resolve payment issues with vendors and internal teams.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions and assist in audit preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, ideally in construction or related industries.
- Proficiency in accounting software, with a preference for familiarity with construction management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach, especially in a project-driven environment.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with vendors and project managers.
