Senior Accountant
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
We have been engaged by a client in the food industry to secure a Sr. Accountant with a path to leadership role intended. This Sr. Accountant role offers high visibility to Management and the Executive Directors. It is with a large and thriving large-size organization, now expanding their footprint.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:
- This role will be involved in reporting for their International accounting on SAP, IFRS as they will be initially focused on the Canadian books and more will come in the way of other countries.
- Some system testing and implementation related work as they are bringing in S4.
- Will report into a new manager that started in Spring who is a systems manager and doing the accounting for international as well. Volume is picking up thus the reason for this need.
- Phase one of the implementation goes live in Feb. Yet with agile and overlapping timelines for Phase two the Manager will need this Sr. Accountant to take this international accounting work off his plate.
- There will be consolidations work, currently they have 13 legal entities.
- Manage foreign currency transactions which apply to the department.
- Assist in interviewing and hiring Staff Accountants as needed to include instruction and training departmental employees on correct methods and procedures in conformity to GAAP.
- SAP accounting reconciliations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- BS in Accounting or finance
- CPA is a must
- At least 3 years of experience in general accounting with IFRS and consolidations desired
- ERP systems skills a plus (Oracle or SAP preferred)
- Distribution, Manufacturing or Retail industry experience desired.
