Accounting Manager Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial functions of the company, and providing strategic financial guidance to this division. The successful person will have experience in accounting/financial leadership within a high growth smaller company. They will also have a track record of mentoring and developing staff, and the ability to partner with leadership on key decisions.
Key Responsibilities for Accounting Manager:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, offering insights to drive strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies to support company goals
- Mentor and develop the skills of the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
- Assess and improve internal controls, processes, and procedures to enhance overall financial performance
- Partner with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Play a key role in special projects, providing financial expertise and contributing to the overall success of the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Public Accounting Foundation a plus
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial leadership roles, preferably in growing smaller companies with entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong G/L accounting skills and knowledge of financial reporting
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team
- Strategic thinker with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to leadership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
