Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers? We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and government regulations, and supporting our management team with accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities: - Process daily sales orders, ensuring completeness and accuracy while applying sales tax correctly.
- Input new job orders into our ERP system and manage transaction processing.
- Maintain accounts receivable records, including customer files and sales tax resale/exemption forms.
- Perform credit checks on new customers and manage customer collections.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve customer inquiries and issues.
- Reconcile bank accounts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrections as needed.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and report preparation.
- Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns.
- Compile job cost and hours reports to support project management.
- Undertake special projects as directed by the controller, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
