Nationally recognized machine tool manufacturer seeks a hands-on, self-motivated Applications Engineer. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in the related manufacturing/fabrication field as well as experience with custom machinery, tooling, or automation. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical communication skills. The work environment will be flexible including office, shop, customer facilities, or trade show.

Responsibilities:

· Programming and operation of machinery, applications/process development

· Engineering support of new product testing

· Production support of new machine startup

· Sales support of samples, customer demonstrations, time studies/cost analysis, and marketing activities

· Customer Application/Service remote support

· On-site customer training/troubleshooting

Write operations and maintenance manuals
Some travel required – about 25%

Required skills include:

2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Proficient in Microsoft Office products [Excel, Word, Power Point]

Preferred experience:

Knowledge of metal fabrication processes such as punching, laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, and rolling.
CAM software
