PRIMARY PURPOSE

The UPS Warehouse Technician’s primary role is to repair, maintain, test and prepare UPS and other Critical Power Equipment designated for project fulfillment, as well as offer technical support and solutions for the operation and maintenance of equipment at customer facilities. This role will be based at Global Power Supply’s Carson City, NV warehouse with limited travel.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and repair of all UPS equipment from all major manufacturer’s:, Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Schneider and others
Maintain all UPS rental equipment for reliable operation and quick shipment
Experience with handling and installing lead acid batteries for UPS application
Understanding of UPS configurations and types, including internal and external maintenance bypass
Perform UPS validation testing using batteries and load banks
Under the warehouse manager’s direction, maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse
Assist with warehouse processes and operational improvements
Continue education, training and knowledge of new technologies and product lines for all major UPS manufacturers
Document UPS specifications, condition, service needs and testing results

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Some travel required (less than 20%)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience, training, and education on major UPS brands

Experience Required

Min 5 years factory or field work as a UPS technician
Inspection, testing and diagnosis
Battery testing and UPS preventative maintenance and repair
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Ability to troubleshoot electrical components
Experience using test instrumentation including power meters, digital multimeters, and data loggers

Experience Preferred

Computer skills with Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP business systems.
Forklift Certification
OSHA training
