PLEASE NOTE: this is a BUILDING STRUCTURES design position, NOT Software Engineer or IT position.

Responsibilities

Contribute to BK's award-winning team for client service and team engagement.
Depending on your experience, you will manage and design building or industrial structure projects both independently and as part of a team.
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates.
Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections.
Collaborate with architects, designers, building contractors, facility managers and owners on design and construction of projects.
Mentor and contribute to the development of younger engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred) - experience in construction is a plus!
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS, NDS
Experience with Revit, RAM and/or RISA is a plus!
PE and/or SE registration.
5 or more years' experience. Seasoned professionals welcome to apply!
Experience with multiple construction types, including steel, concrete, masonry, mass timber is a big plus!

Beautiful Lexington, Kentucky is the ideal place to live! Literally: Lexington has been listed by Money Magazine and Travel and Leisure in the past two years. We have staff who have relocated from all over. Lexington is a beautiful college town centrally located. Louisville and Cincinnati are 1.5 hours away; Indianapolis is 3 hours away. Cleveland, Atlanta, Pittsburg, Chicago and St Louis are all 5-6 hours away.

This is a full-time position.

While BK is very flexible, this is not a remote employee position. We greatly value face-to-face contact between our team and desire this to be predominantly in-office. We are primarily hiring for Lexington but other locations considered.
