About the Role - The School Social Worker plays a critical role in addressing various issues faced by students, families, and teachers.

Responsibilities

Conduct formal and informal assessments of student functioning, developmental history, family and community structure, interpersonal relationships, adaptive behavior, and cultural factors.
Develop appropriate interventions based on assessments to improve student learning.
Assist in planning therapeutic, remedial, and behavioral modification activities.
Provide direct interventions to students, including individual and group therapy, counseling, and educational programs.
Offer supportive case work to children and families, including parent education and self-advocacy.
Provide parent counseling and training to support the implementation of a child's specialized educational program.
Assist students and families in accessing community resources.
Consult with stakeholders to understand factors affecting a student's educational experience.
Collaborate with educational agency personnel, parents, and community resources on areas impacting student learning.
Work with community agencies and organizations to promote student welfare and achievement.
Participate in interagency panels to integrate services effectively for students.
Coordinate and implement bullying prevention efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications - A School Social Worker must have an MSW. LSW and LCSW are preferred.

Required Skills - Strong interpersonal skills, assessment abilities, counseling expertise, and knowledge of community resources.

Preferred Skills - Experience in collaborating with community health, mental health, and welfare service providers.
