Our PE partner is looking to add a Plant Manager to their largest food manufacturing facility. This facility is home to 200+ employees with another 80 coming from green field expansion. This will oversee a P&L north of $100m. The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the operation within the plant. They will manage scheduling, oversee daily operating reports, and increase production by providing leadership and carrying out strategic plans, along with company policies, with emphasis on safety and quality. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with an analytical mind and excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a strong background in Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Actively plan, deploy and advise necessary actions to meet the Corporate Scorecard and Performance goals.
Manage production of all products and coordinate production schedules.
Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity and production rates.
Handle all aspects of personnel management at the plant level in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager & SVP of Operations as necessary.
Define capital projects including cost justification and timing and manage and coordinate assigned projects including bid approval and equipment purchasing.
Maintain a safe work environment, driving safety programs, practices and training in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal laws.
Determine any facility maintenance issues and establish preventive maintenance practices.
Direct quality control and training throughout the plant to meet company as well as customer requirements for quality and perform necessary audits. Ensure all compliance needs are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing and 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment and working with packaging equipment.
Basic accounting knowledge and auditing.
Safety and OSHA/WISHA training required.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
