Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and maintains an effective control system, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Communicates financial performance to employees, executives, and trustees, providing insight for decision-making.
Acts as the primary liaison with banks, investors, advisors, and government agencies.
Supports strategic planning and execution alongside the Leadership Team.
Oversees payroll taxes and auditing, ensuring compliance with wage and benefit regulations (e.g., workers’ compensation, W2s, IRS 941).
Manages Federal and State tax filings, including IRS 990, IRS 5500, and Michigan Charitable License renewals.
Administers fiduciary duties related to CMS health plan fiscal reporting.
Collaborates with the Director of Program Integrity to maintain compliance and adequate contract network.
Oversees IT operations, leading initiatives that enhance data security, operational efficiency, and technology strategy.
Leads seamless integration of financial, clinical, and operational systems to streamline data and enhance reporting.
Administers core accounting functions, including cash management, receivables, payables, internal controls, and auditing.
Manages broader business operations, from enrollment reporting and revenue processes to budget administration and grant budgets.
Partners with the Director of Program Integrity to oversee risk management, including business, liability, D&O, and medical malpractice insurance.
Communicates regularly with the CEO regarding organizational performance and any potential issues.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management (required); Master’s degree (preferred).
Certification: CPA preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional accounting and financial management experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role; executive experience in non-profit or healthcare settings preferred.
Knowledge: Proven expertise in legal, audit, compliance, budgeting, and resource development.
Character: Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and ability to strategize and collaborate.
