Key Responsibilities:

Creates packaging and component specifications.
Support the general innovation team with test runs.
Partner with production to improve seal and bag fit packaging. Review films for improvements; structure and quality. Experience with gusset bags a plus.
Utilize AS400 for data entry for setting up production packaging needs.
Adjust systems through data entry for developing models, traces, item number codes, and case labels.
Evaluate and implement technological improvements where appropriate (AS400 and internet applications).
Effectively manage costs for assigned responsibility and identifies opportunities for cost improvements.
Communicate via telephone and e-mail with internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Technology field with a minimum of 3-5 years of related job experience.
Experience with PRISM systems.
Efficient math and analytic skills and the ability to efficiently use Excel, Word, and other similar computer programs.
Ability to work with others and to interface with a broad scope of disciplines.
Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
Expediting skills, as well as the ability to be assertive as required.
Negotiation skills are preferred.
Ability to work with confidential information and represent the company in a professional manner.
Prior production control and/or inventory control experience would be desirable.
Ability to travel to suppliers as needed.
Ability to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form.
