Key Responsibilities:
- Creates packaging and component specifications.
- Support the general innovation team with test runs.
- Partner with production to improve seal and bag fit packaging. Review films for improvements; structure and quality. Experience with gusset bags a plus.
- Utilize AS400 for data entry for setting up production packaging needs.
- Adjust systems through data entry for developing models, traces, item number codes, and case labels.
- Evaluate and implement technological improvements where appropriate (AS400 and internet applications).
- Effectively manage costs for assigned responsibility and identifies opportunities for cost improvements.
- Communicate via telephone and e-mail with internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Technology field with a minimum of 3-5 years of related job experience.
- Experience with PRISM systems.
- Efficient math and analytic skills and the ability to efficiently use Excel, Word, and other similar computer programs.
- Ability to work with others and to interface with a broad scope of disciplines.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
- Expediting skills, as well as the ability to be assertive as required.
- Negotiation skills are preferred.
- Ability to work with confidential information and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Prior production control and/or inventory control experience would be desirable.
- Ability to travel to suppliers as needed.
- Ability to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form.
